RIBA Yorkshire delivers the services of the Royal Institute of British Architects in the Yorkshire and Humber region. It also delivers a number of administrative and support services for the North East region. Our mission is to advance architecture by demonstrating benefit to society and promoting excellence in the profession.
What we offer
The RIBA regions fulfil a vital co-ordinating role between RIBA members and the public. We provide core services for RIBA members including CPD training events, regular email bulletins and newsletter and architecture awards programmes. We also provide information and assistance for members of the public about architecture and working with architects.
Information service for members and the public
The regional office can assist with enquiries related to architecture, design and environment, engaging an architect, selection of an architect, training to be an architect and guidance on membership of the RIBA. It also holds information on other relevant organisations and topics.
Book and contract sales
Through RIBA Yorkshire the full range of RIBA publications, building contracts and administration documents are available by mail order, as well as a wide range of architectural and construction books.
CPD programme
A regular programme provides members with the opportunity to continue their professional development through a choice of topical courses at reasonable rates.
Client Services
This free service is to assist people in the selection of an architect. Information is supplied about local practices familiar with the appropriate type of building. RIBA Yorkshire deals with enquiries relating to sites within the region's boundaries.
White Rose Awards for Design Excellence
RIBA Yorkshire's annual awards recognising design excellence in architecture across the region, supported by Ibstock Brick since 1986.
RIBA Awards for Architecture
RIBA Yorkshire facilitates the shortlisting and assessment of buildings in the region which are entered for this prestigious national awards scheme. Award winners from the regions all go forward for the RIBA National Awards, the winners of which form the shortlist for the RIBA Stirling Prize.
